Courtyard is quite a small map best played with teams of 5. If there are too many players in the server it just becomes a nade throwing contest. On the up side any game played on this map don’t tend to last long.
The smallness and lay out of the map does not tend to lend it self to Search and Destroy, and you will find players will often play like it’s a team death match. With that knowledge we can place our Bettys accordingly.
Bottom south west end of the map to the right of the red hut.
I love this placement of a Betty. Best used when defending, from spawn just run up the right and plant close to the wall.
The enemy will not be able to see it. When they pass close by the Betty will shoot up and bang. no more enemy.
East side of the map about half way up.
I often see this Betty placed by the attacking side. It’s to stop the defenders flanking. The only problem is that it is to close to the wall. As the enemy approach it will trigger to early and the wall will take all of the blast.

This is the way to plant in this area. Plant a few feet back from the wall, that way the enemy have to pass through the doorway before the Betty explodes.
Note.
As you look plant on the left, if you plant the Betty on the right the enemy have a better chance of seeing it and shooting Betty.

You will often find flankers working in pairs, so a second betty set further back we help sort them out.
Attacking side spawn.
Love this placement. As we said earlier this map often turns in to a death match, with the enemy moving through your spawn. Leave them a little gift under the tree. You may be shocked at just how many kills you get.
Defenders, west side of the map, by the broken wall.
This Betty is out in the open but still gets a lot of kills. Don’t plant to close to the wall or it will get a false trigger.

Have you spotted the trend for this map?
There are so many internal walls and your Bettys have to be placed well away from them.
There are a number of walled squares on this map. Place a Betty in the middle to avoid false trigger.
As the enemy jump over the wall there will be nothing they can do to stop there movement.
Be careful with this Betty if friendly fire is on, as your team-mates will all so like to sit in the walled square.
Bomb site A.
Both entrances to site A have some nice long grass. Bettys placed here will do the business
North east of the map on the upper level.
If the attacking team are playing with flankers (and they often do on this map) this will come as a surprise when they pop there head up.
Bomb site B.
One of the first things I look for on a map is fire. Well there is lots on this maps, but only the one you see in the picture is of any use.
Pop your betty in here and the enemy will never see it.
All over the map.
This is something I only found out when I was taking the screen shoots for this web site. All of those mid sized rocks will hide a Betty.
This means that you can with a bit of searching plant a Betty any where with out any one seeing it. Enjoy this tip, I am.
Every where
All over the place on this map you will find clumps of long grass. With the death match mentality of this map you stand a good chance of getting a kill
Underground.
Remember the death match mentality we were talking about. Well how many times have you seen it where you have 4 players looking for 1, and the four are running round like headless chickens. Looking for the kill.
This Betty has a surprising high kill rate.
As an added bonus when planted early in the round you are missing all of that silly nade throwing
